The minimum molybdenum content of foil is 99.95%.

Molybdenum foil is rolled to close thickness tolerances and a uniformly bright finish in 12" maximum widths.  Precision slitting equipment, designed specifically for foil, produces the customer's specified width with burr-free edges and tight width tolerances. 

Foil is furnished in either random lengths or pieces of specific length.  Foil is available flat or in rolls.  All foil is supplied to the customer's specific width.

Applications

Molybdenum Foil is processed to obtain appropriate mechanical properties for applications involving bending, spinning, drawing, or stamping, which, in most applications, can be performed at room temperature. 

If the customer designates a specific application, SYLVANIA will supply material best suited for the intended use and can produce molybdenum foil to appropriate ASTM standards upon request.

Surface Condition
Surface can be supplied in a mirror or matte finish dependent upon thickness and width parameters.

Heat Treatment
Molybdenum flat products are rolled and annealed to provide the optimum condition for the desired end use (Furnace, Punch, Deep Draw).
